"Living Lyrics" was originally built to be in-person at a Third Eye Blind concert in March ‘20, then June ‘20.
But with the shows cancelled due to the pandemic, we still wanted to raise as much money as possible for the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation.
So, we brought it to life in our backyard and filmed it to be able to share the video online to inspire donations.
3EB fans painted sections of the Third Eye Blind larger-than-life logo during the Summer Gods Tour to raise money for the Becoming X Foundation.
Based on the 3EB lyric “She’s got the black flag on her shoulder” from the song The Kids are Coming, I made stickers as an excuse to meet other fierce female fans at the Parx show. We talked about youth activists like Emma Gonzalez (gun control advocate) and Greta Thunberg (climate campaigner).
Wanting to connect with and thank all the men who showed their support and solidarity by joining in the Women’s March NYC, I brought along a poster with the lyrics from the song Hey Lady by the Treaty. This activation in the "Living Lyrics" series showed that we can rise together in the fight for equality.
Expanding the “Living Lyrics" collection, I brought Michigander words to life. I posted the latest album art but with blank lines so fans could sharpie in the title. Times have been so rough through COVID that I thought writing out the words "Everything Will Be Okay Eventually" could be a very healing and cathartic experience.
